Sometimes if you want to search anything on your system but you are unable to do so. It can be due to a reason that your search option is not working.You can fix “windows 10 search not working” by following the procedure mentioned below.

Fix windows 10 Search not working by Windows Registry

  • First open Run Dialog Box By pressing Windows key + R Key on the Keyboard.
  • Type Regedit and Press Enter.
  • Find following location HKEY_CIRRENT_USER > SOFTWARE> Microsoft >Windows
  • Click on Current Version and then click on search.
  • Right Click the Right pane of the Regedit windows to bring up the menu.
  • Click New.
  • Click on D-Word (32-Bit) Value.
  • Type BingSearchEnabled and hit Enter on your Keyboard.
  • Double Click the BingSearchEnabled entry you just created.
  • Type 0 in the Value date field, (it should already be 0 but make sure).
  • Click OK Button.
  • Double Click CortanaConsent.
  • Type 0 In the Data Field.
  • Click OK Button.
  • Restart Your PC

Using Windows Troubleshooter

  • Open Windows Setting.
  • Click on Update & Security.
  • Then click on Troubleshoot.
  • Under the Find and Fix other problems Section, select the Search and indexing Option.
  • Click the Run the Troubleshooter button.
  • Check the problems taht best describe your situation. E.g Files don’t appear in search results.
  • Click the Next Button.
  • Continue with the on-screen directions
